Global Youth Justice, Inc. is a Nonpartisan 501c3 Nonprofit Organization Championing 2,050+ Youth-Led and Volunteer-Driven Youth Justice and Juvenile Justice Diversion Programs Teen/Peer/Student/Youth Court, Youth Peer Court, and Peer Jury Diversion Programs in 47 States, 35 Tribes, and 12 Countries. Global Youth Justice, Inc. utilizes a Public Domain Approach, as it initially existed as the World's First Federal, National, or County Level Effort on these Inclusive Democracy Peer-to-Peer Justice Diversion Programs. For 10+ Years (1997-2008), Global Youth Justice, Inc. was first called the Federal Youth Court Diversion Program, and was a uniquely American experiment to authentically engage volunteer youth in an essential local government capacity, co-leading juvenile justice and youth justice diversion services. Within the Executive Branch of the United States Government, at the United States Department of Justice, the Federal Youth Court Program was designed in 1997, as a 10-Year Plan, using a unique public domain approach, combined with a large scale training and technical assistance approach, in lieu of federal to local three year grants, which usually result in the project ending, then the three year funding did. By the end of the 10-Year Federal Youth Court Diversion Program Plan in 2008, four (4) additional Federal Agencies to include USDOJ/NHTSA, USDOE/OESE, USDHHS/FYSB and Corporation for National and Community Service/AmeriCorps were sending the U.S. Department of Justice annual Inter-Agency Agreements to help fund this federal project, as it had resulted in 1150 Local Teen/Peer/Student/Youth Court, Youth Peer Court, and Peer Jury Diversion Programs in 31 States, 13 Tribes, and 2 Countries. This USDOJ-Led 10+ Year Federal Youth Court Diversion Project from 1997 to 2008, was designed using the structure of a project created in New York called Youth Courts of the Capital District, Inc. in 1993. It was funded with a 3-year demonstration grant by the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services, using Federal Funds from USDOJ/OJP/OJJDP. The same individual who was the Founding CEO of Youth Courts of the Capital District, Inc. in 1993, was hired by USDOJ in 1997 to design and managed the Federal Youth Court Diversion Program. In 2009, the USDOJ Project was transitioned to a Public Domain Social LLC Venture called Global Youth Justice, LLC and in 2015 was incorporated as a nonprofit in Massachusetts. In 2019, Global Youth Justice, Inc. was awarded 501c3 charitable status and relaunched as Global Youth Justice, Inc. in 2020. We have only submitted one grant on purpose as of 1/9/2023, and it was to be the Federal Lead for 9/11 DAY for AmeriCorps and we won 1 of only 5 grants and put on the largest national 9/11 DAY Events Across America in 2021 and 2022, and we are working on 2023. As of January 2023 -- we now plan to scale up and apply for public and private funding and add board members, and much more!
